As part of its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Egypt has signed a cooperation agreement with Misr ElKheir Foundation to provide clean and safe water access to 16,500 residents in villages of Shebin El-Kom, Monufia Governorate.
Signing Ceremony Attended by Key Officials
The signing ceremony was attended by Fumio Iwai, Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, Mohamed Moussa, Deputy Governor of Monufia, Mariana Salib, General Manager of JTI Egypt, and Amal Mubada, Chief Fundraising Officer at Misr ElKheir Foundation, along with other distinguished figures.
Improving Clean Water Supply and Community Well-Being
This initiative aims to replace damaged water pipes, ensuring a reliable and safe water supply for the local community. The project will not only ease the daily struggle for clean water but also enhance public health by preventing waterborne diseases such as hepatitis and other illnesses, significantly improving the quality of life in the region.
Recognizing the Role of Public-Private Partnerships
Fumio Iwai, Japanese Ambassador, praised JTI Egypt for its dedication to sustainable development, emphasizing that this initiative serves as a model for cooperation between the private sector and civil society in enhancing community well-being.
