flynas, the world’s leading low-cost airline and the Best Low-Cost Carrier in the Middle East, has unveiled its plan to operate three weekly direct flights between Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and Sphinx International Airport in Cairo. The new service will commence on December 11, 2024, as part of flynas’ ambitious growth strategy aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and national aviation goals.
Strengthening Saudi-Egyptian Connectivity
The new route will operate on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, expanding flynas’ growing network of flights from its newest operations base at Madinah Airport. This addition aligns with the airline’s strategy, “We Connect the World to the Kingdom,” which aims to enhance Saudi Arabia’s international connectivity. The initiative supports the National Civil Aviation Strategy by targeting 250 international destinations, accommodating 330 million passengers annually, and hosting 150 million tourists by 2030.
Expanding International Flight Network
flynas continues to strengthen ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt with more than 120 weekly direct flights connecting five Saudi cities—Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, and Al-Ula—to major Egyptian destinations, including Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, El Alamein, and Sohag. Cairo is served by flynas flights to both Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport, now including the new route from Madinah.
Boosting Regional Tourism and Economic Goals
This expansion also supports the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate travel for pilgrims and visitors to the Two Holy Mosques. By offering more direct connections, flynas is positioned to play a pivotal role in achieving Saudi Arabia’s aviation targets, which include flying to 165 domestic and international destinations and surpassing 80 million passengers, building on its success since launching operations in 2007.
Commitment to Affordable Travel
As part of its strategy, flynas ensures competitive pricing for travelers, appealing to both business and leisure segments. The addition of Sphinx International Airport, a strategic location near the Great Pyramids, enhances accessibility for tourists and streamlines travel to one of Egypt’s most significant cultural and historical hubs.
Flynas’ Journey of Excellence
With more than 1,500 weekly flights to over 70 destinations, flynas remains committed to its goal of connecting travelers globally. Since its inception in 2007, the airline has transported more than 80 million passengers and continues to innovate in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, striving to make Saudi Arabia a global aviation hub.
Key Details for Travelers
The new flights between Madinah and Sphinx International Airport offer enhanced convenience for travelers seeking efficient and affordable options. The addition of these flights underscores flynas’ focus on connecting cultural, religious, and tourist hubs across the region, reinforcing its reputation as the Middle East’s leading low-cost airline.
