ALEXBANK has announced the official appointment of Mr. Paolo Vivona as Executive Member of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Director, as well as Mr. Antonio Bergalio as Executive Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO, following their approval from the regulatory authorities. Paolo Vivona’s Extensive Banking Experience
Mr. Paolo Vivona, with over 35 years of experience in banking and business development, brings a solid foundation of strategic and operational expertise, gained through 27 years in top management roles. His career is marked by successful tenures at renowned international banks known for their robust business models and efficient governance structures. Mr. Vivona has directed several pioneering projects in diverse markets and has deep knowledge in areas such as business growth, governance, and control functions.
Before joining ALEXBANK, Mr. Vivona held numerous senior roles within the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and its subsidiaries. He served as Vice President and Head of Risk Management at Bank of Qingdao in China, Chief Risk Officer and Executive Board Member at ALEXBANK in Egypt, and later as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Financial Officer at CIB Bank in Hungary. Additionally, he held roles as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO at VUB Bank in Slovakia, as well as General Manager, CEO, and Chairman of the Management Committee at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania.
Mr. Vivona succeeds Mr. Dante Campioni, who led ALEXBANK as CEO and Managing Director from January 2015 until September 2024, marking nearly a decade of dedicated leadership.
Antonio Bergalio’s Strong Track Record in Financial Management
Mr. Antonio Bergalio joins ALEXBANK as Deputy CEO and Executive Member of the Board, bringing over 30 years of experience in banking, including 22 years in managerial roles within Intesa Sanpaolo Group. His deep-rooted experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board at VUB Bank in Slovakia and as Chief Financial Officer at PRAVEX Bank in Ukraine. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Management Board of Privredna Banka Zagreb in Croatia.
