Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company, owned by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with French hospitality group Accor to manage and operate the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza Hotel. This luxurious project is strategically located near the iconic Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids.
$100 Million Investment for Sofitel Legend Hotel
Yahia Kotub, CEO of Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company, revealed that the company has earmarked approximately $100 million for the hotel’s development, excluding land value. Construction will commence in December 2024, with a scheduled opening in May 2027, according to the detailed project timeline.
“This investment marks a key milestone for our portfolio expansion in Egypt,” Kotub stated. “Our collaboration with Accor brings the Sofitel Legend brand to a historic and unparalleled location, connecting luxury hospitality with Egypt’s rich cultural heritage.”

The hotel will feature 303 elegantly designed rooms, offering stunning views of the Giza Pyramids. Guests can expect world-class amenities, including exceptional dining experiences and state-of-the-art wellness facilities. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company is primarily owned by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (84%), with shares held by the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company (10%) and Egypt’s Ministry of Public Business Sector (6%). Its portfolio includes iconic properties such as Movenpick Sharm El Sheikh and Mercure Hurghada, with the Sofitel Legend Pyramids being the third major project.
